Oh how I remember,
December in the rain.
Well here at the moment we have bright skies,
a little cloud, very pleasant and no pain!!
This is a post with no pictures today, just thought
you might like to know there is a little gizmo on the blog,
that lets me see all the different countries that people come
from when they visit this blog.
It really is quite amazing, let me tell you some of the countries
that come for a visit, Spain, UK, USA, Finland, Romania,
India, Australia.
We have had people from all of these countries in the bar at
one time or another.
There have been other countries as well, but right at this moment
I can't remember what they were!
It is such a wonderful feeling knowing that there are people
out there who actually do read the blog, and look at the pictures.
It would be so brill if a few more of you actually put some comments
on the blog, it is so easy to do.
One day maybe?

Another Postcard - Wish You Were Here

This is how many people get here, and this is the colour of the skies that meet them. We are only about 20 mins from the airport, so it doesn't take long to reach us.
'Hello Mum'

This is an actual paddle boat, this sits down in the harbour
at the back of the bar in Benalmadena.
There was talk of turning it into a night club/casino. But it is HUGE. You can just see a car alongside it, bottom left. If you can imagine a person standing there, that will give you an idea of the size.

This is the street that the bar is on, I love to see the
palm trees, it gives the place a real tropical flavour.
But this is a rare sight of the bar in daylight. We are night people. But to see the beautiful blue skies is wonderful. You should see the stars at night, the skies are so clear, the stars look like diamonds set in a black velvet tapestry.

This picture was taken not long after we got here, and I think this is a picture of the beach in Torremolinos, in Los Alamos. That name always makes me smile, coz it makes me think of the cowboy film, The Alamo.

These two pictures show some of the views from my casa, this is spanish for house. The one on the left is a view from the front, and the one on the right is at the back. Yes that is an Aloe Vera plant growing in the forefront of the picture on the right, they grow wild here, and get very big. I will post some more later.

This is No. 1

The one at the top right is No. 2, Bottom Right is No. 3, and this one
is No. 4. They are all made out of reclaimed bike parts.
I think they are brilliant, and they are all hanging in the bar, for all
to see.
This is some art work made by someone we know very well.
They are for sale, should you want to buy one or more please contact
us through the comments facility, at the bottom of each post.
We will then put you in touch with the artist.
The prices are very reasonable they start at 40 euros and go up
depending on the size of the picture. The buyer pays for the
shipping. Or you can always pick it up when you come to visit.

Alright I know Halloween has been and gone
my excuse is there is so much to do and so
little time to do it in, so there.

This is Fred and Julia, two mean pool players
who also love to eat pizza on our terrace.

This is Hernando, one of the many Spanish men
who come to our bar, down girls he just got
married the other day to a really beautiful girl
called Irene. (We went to their wedding reception
absolutely fabulous, no expense was spared)
This is a picture of him on his stag night. It was
quite early, so he was still sober!!!

Dawn Breaks

As the dawn breaks over the mountains we are just
closing the bar, after another successful night.
As we travel along in the car, making our way to our
beds, we pass and are passed by all the people who
are just going to work. We are the night workers.

And while we toil away during the dark wee hours,
we get to meet a lot of really interesting people.
These two people, came to our bar, a few weeks
ago, I took their picture and wrote their names
down, but when it came for me to post them on
the site, I found to my horror, I had lost their
names. I remember they came from Durham?
but forgive me your names have gone right out
of the window and my brain as well. So if you
get to see this, PLEASE contact me to put me out
of my misery. As soon as you let me know, the
info will be put on here. So the flowers are for
you as a way of an apology.

Just Pictures

Well hello there, hope this finds you all good and well!
Here is a mixture of pics, from one night at Shades.
We have people who really love having their photo
taken and those who shy away!! (Whatever their
reasons are I don't ask!!!?? ;-D )
So enjoy your viewing, oh yes for those of you who
are interested, the weather here is absolutely brill,
we can still sit on the terrace at 3 or 4 in the morning
in t shirts and shorts. We have beautiful blue skies
with those little fluffy clouds, you know the ones
they look like someone has just blown smoke out,
dancing their way across the skies, pardon me I am
getting a bit lyrical here, must have been the late
late night.

These are just some of the bikes that we get parked outside
the bar, there is a mixture of 'old' designs new race rocket
types and some just 'new' they all look great.

Here are two of our regulars deep in conversation,
probably about the last bike race, and who is now
in the lead points wise. Kimmo on the right is from
Finland, and Guille on the left is from here in Spain.

See what I mean about some people loving having their

with us for the night, our other barman had
another job to do. Shhhhh don't tell anyone

Hello and welcome one and all this is for you.

This post contains some pictures of some of
the finnish people that frequent our bar,
now I know what you are thinking what are
their names, well I can only tell you some,
there is Krista and Kimmo, Ronny, Alo and
then some who's names will be forever on
the tip of my tongue, and that is where they
will stay!!

Also this week, we are pleased to tell you that
we have our old friend Andy to visit with us,
he is staying with us in one of our caravans.

We have been privileged to have known
Andy for quite a number of years, he is one
of the best blokes we know. A real good
friend. He always knows how to party!!

Out of the many reactions we got via E-mail and our guestbook on the site, we learned that the site appeals to the mind of trikers and bikers with information about rally’s, tours, MC campsites, MC hotels and more. Weekly we receive tips and suggestions for the site which are received and placed on the site with great joy!

http://www.dutchtrikers.com/ is a site from and for trike and bike enthusiasts, this site is actually a first set up to see what the reactions would be and where we can/must improve. A new site is in progress, but you do realize that this won’t be ready in short tome due to the fact that we’re out on rally’s and events our selfs this summer. Yet More

We have em dancin' in the street, dancin' on the
bar. We have em dancin' everwhere.

This is Lynn and Dave, they have spent their
entire holiday with us. Lynn came to us last
year with a bunch of other girls, and when
she got home wouldn't stop going on about
the bar, so hubby Dave had to come along this
year just to see for himself. Tonight they are
leaving us to go back to England. Boo Hoo.
Its been great to meet you, and have you

AJ and Friends

This is our old friend AJ, he is a really good bloke.
He and his tall friend are from Finland, (sorry I
can't get my tongue round these Finnish names)
his sister is married to a spanish guy, Antonio
and his friend came too, his name is also Antonio.

AJ was here for a holiday, and so he tells us he

had a fantastic time here, again.

You are sadly missed AJ. But we hope that

you get on well back in your native Finland.

Roxana Bogdan on the bike outside the bar.

These two lovely people are from Rumania,
Roxana is on holiday and staying with her
brother and he takes her to as many places
as he can, time permitting. The day after
this picture was taken, he was taking her
to the lakes!! I am sure they will have a
good time, it is perfect riding weather here
in Spain. There are so many bikes, and
youngsters on scooters buzzing in and out
of the traffic. You see old men on the old
mopeds, laden to the hilt with anything
and everything that you can imagine.

The Lakes

This is the day they went to
the lakes with us.

The day was absolutely beautiful, very hot though. But
there wasn't any complaints!!
Young Dave was on the bike, for the first time in his life
so we have been told. He enjoyed it, perfect riding weather
and the road to the lakes is very smooth, scenery is quite
spectacular as well.
Dave, Shereen, their daughter Zoe and her boyfriend Dave
went swimming, while we waited up in the restaurant
for them to come back. When they arrived they were all
bright pink from the sun, and that is even with sun cream
as well. We had a meal, they weren't hungry so they sat
and watched us eat. Then we all left and went back to
Benalmadena. Having had a really good day out.

Packed to the Gunnels

This lovely family will be coming
to the Lakes with us on Monday.

This is Sarah from Durham
and Jamie from Derby.

Here are some more people who were out on the terrace.

We have been packed to the gunnels for quite a time
just lately. So You Have Been Warned, if you want a
seat you gotta come early!!! The weather is very hot
right now. It did get a little cooler for a couple of days
but now we've got beautiful blue skies without any
clouds at all.
The next post will contain pictures of our day at the
lakes. These are just up the road from where we live,
very handy, and very very beautiful. Considering we
are supposed to be in a drought situation, there isn't
a lack of water. Even though the reservoise are low.
Oh well, Ho Hum back to sun bathing, its a hard life!!

We have watched Paul get bigger each year they
have been coming.

Big Jim and Little Jim

And this is June, Jim's beautiful wife, I don't think June plays pool very much.

photos of Benalmadena so here are a

For those of you who have been to
Benalmadena, you will know
this is of the light house at the
end of the Harbour

The weather at the moment is Hot, as it usually is this time of the year, especially in August.
We have endless blue skies, with only one or two little fluffy clouds to break it up. We are still sitting out on the terrace here at 3 and 4 in the morning, with only t shirts and shorts on.
The beer is ice cold, with the condensation running down the outside of the glass. Everyone is just moving slowly, so you don't get a sweat on. The only people who are moving quickly is the suppliers to the bars and restaurants, getting the next shipment in so that it can go straight into the coolers. The children are still running around on the beaches playing ball, making sand castles, and doing all those other things that children do. The mums and dads are joining in with the eating of ice creams, that come in all sorts of flavours here. The boats in the harbour, are gently swaying with the moving sea. The thing that amazes me here is the lack of sea gulls, I mean we do have them, but not in the numbers that seem to swarm around the sea sides of england, when they seem to dive bomb anyone within their reach to try and grab whatever is in their hands.
On the sort of days we are having now, you can see right accross to Morocco. That place that is always full of mystery.

Here she is again, with a young man whose name is Asa, they met at the bar,
Asa looks a little star struck to me!!!!

We had four people from Luxembourg on Wednesday night. Along with the
usual motley crew. I had forgotton all about that little country, coz to me it
goes with the radio station, those of you who are of the same era as me will
understand!!!! Well thats all for now folks. cozmic

The One and Only Rock Bar

This is a painting by a very dear friend
who died a few years ago. He was first
involved in a motorcycle accident, when
he was struck by a BT lorry, who was
travelling on the wrong side of the road
on a country lane. He lost his leg as a
result of this, and very nearly his life
in fact it was a miracle he lived. But he
didn't live for long , because of the drugs
he had become addicted to, that he had
to take for the ghost pains. This did not
stop him from riding, a Trike was
built for him. Out of all of his paintings
this one was of a bar, and we thought it was rather apt for us to place on this site.
So this is in memory of Credit, otherwise known as Chris. A brilliant artist.
We will be posting more of his paintings in the near future.

TRIUMPH

wouldn't normally write so soon after the last post, but this just had to be done, we had one awesome bike here last night. (It had been once before in the week, but I wasn't here) it is a 2 and a half litre Triumph. As you can see in the picture it is one BIG bike. So is Mark who rides it. He had been to Faro on this bike, rode all the way just to party!! Then rode to us here in Benalmadena and he said he had to stop at ours for a quickie coz he was two hours early!!! Mark very kindly came back so that I could take a photo of him and his bike. This has left me quite speechles!! (That takes a lot I hear you say) Being used to seeing all sorts of bikes and trikes and anything in between, but so far for me this one takes the biscuit. Cheers Mark.

Well Dave managed to reachone of the big 'Os' while he was with us at the bar. I won't say which one but he hasn't reached the half century yet!!
A good time was had by all, some more so than the others. He was a really great guy, he came with his wife and friends. Celebrated hard, and then staggered off to his bed in the wee hours of the morning.
We couldn't get him a cake with candles on but maybe this might do?

This was the start of the evening when everyone could still stand up!!!

The beginning of a beautiful friendship by the looks of things here. The two girls come every year to the bar they say that they like the atmosphere, I think they like the other customers as well. I know the other customers like them!!
